Levans biography begins on 21 august of 1982, when he was born
in Tbilisi.
After graduating College
of Media and Television Arts, he entered Shota Rustaveli State Institute
of the Film and the Theatre, at the department of directing.
In 2000, Levan Lagazidze shot his first diploma work "Reincarnation"
at the College of Media
and Television Arts, which is about young man who goes through his fate and rebirths again. In 2001 this film was awarded
as a best experimental film at Tbilisi Film Festival.
In the same year, his documentary "Thirst" about dog fighting
was shown on Munchen and Moscow students' film festivals.
Violence overlords upon us, men always stay thirst and claim for bloom - is stated in the film.
In 2004, Levan was chosen among numerous applicants to attend
Berlinare Talent Campus with his one-minute experimental film, where lenses are used as a new dimension and boy's monologue
is told in such unordinary form.
Just before that night,
his draft "The first word is missing" won at AVANTI program and was awarded grant to shoot it.
After Levans death, his friends and colleagues continue working
on this project and the short film "the first word is missing" will be shot in December of 2004.
"I make planes from my
photos, which I dislike and make them fly from my window" - is noted in his dairy. Beside directing Levan was very fond
of making photos and often tried to chase/engrave sights, persons and emotions on the photo. He was severally awarded on different
photo exhibition, best-colored photo at Photo contest "Muza" (October 2002) and organizers special prize at "Kolga" (November
2003).
In different periods, Levan worked at Georgian Broadcasting company
"Iberia" and also at Internews Georgia, where he directed documentary films and social advertisements.
